The benefits of nationally accredited qualifications are proven to be numerous and include increased employee satisfaction, retention and productivity. In consultation with our members and registered training organisations (RTOs), the CCMA will deliver the Education Excellence Program. Our Education Advisor will work with you to access government funding that will off-set the cost of training your staff and give you better skilled teams and the ability to create a succession plan within the business.
As of the 1st January 2010 the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) endorsed Employer funding for traineeships that are State approved for Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas.
Recently Skills Victoria, through industry advice, has approved several dozen Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications (see below) to be delivered via a traineeship pathway. Importantly for employer funding purposes all of these qualifications will potentially attract employer funding for Existing Workers as well as New Workers. The mandatory 2 years or greater nominal duration period of the Training Contract will not be a determination for eligibility purposes. The other existing rules regarding eligibility still apply (e.g. prior qualifications).
