EDGE Employment Solutions (Inc) is a not-for-profit organisation assisting people with disabilities to secure and maintain employment. Our job seekers have a wide range of abilities and career aspirations, from people seeking basic duties with minimal hours to university graduates.
Many organisations are interested in providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities but may be hesitant.
Our service bridges this gap, and provides the following services at no cost:
Analysis of the job requirements and selection of the most suitable candidate
Work trials to ascertain suitability for the job
Assessment of the workplace by a qualified Occupational Therapist
Insurance coverage during the work trial
On-the-job support until the new employee reaches pre-agreed quality and productivity rates
Ongoing support for the term of employment with your organisation
Co-workers training to improve the skills of your work-based mentors
EDGE Employment Solutions also has access to various labour market programs, including:
Australian Apprenticeships & Traineeships (provides employer incentive payments and wage subsidy)
Wage Subsidy (assists with initial training/development)
Workplace Modification funds
Supported Wage (productivity assessed wage based on the award)
Statistically it has been proven that with appropriate training, employees with disabilities have greater long-term productivity, greater longevity of employment and are loyal workers who take pride in the organisations for whom they work. Employing someone with a disability can have a positive effect on staff moral creating an integrated team environment and a positive corporate image.
